Doctor Who

The Buildable Dalek, also known as Dalek Sec Hybrid, is a unique and formidable foe from the popular science fiction series, Doctor Who. This character debuted in the two-part story "Daleks in Manhattan" and "Evolution of the Daleks" (2007), during the Tenth Doctor's era.

The Buildable Dalek's origins are rooted in Dalek Sec's attempts to ensure the survival of the Cult of Skaro. Facing extinction, Dalek Sec, through genetic experimentation, sought to transform Daleks into Human-Dalek hybrids. Sec himself was the first to undergo the process, merging with Mr. Diagoras, a human.

While initially intended to be a superior being, the hybrid Dalek was ultimately flawed. The human DNA influenced Sec, leading him to question Dalek supremacy and consider emotions – traits abhorrent to pure Daleks. This deviation from the Dalek ideal ultimately led to Sec's demise at the hands of the other Cult of Skaro members.

The 'buildable' moniker comes from the Cult's plan to mass-produce Dalek-Human hybrids using captured humans in New York City. The creation of these Dalek-human hybrids represented a desperate attempt to adapt and survive, even at the cost of their Dalek purity.
