Biography:

Chewbacca, a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk, is a central character in the *Star Wars* film franchise.

He first appeared in *Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope* (1977). Chewbacca is Han Solo's loyal co-pilot and best friend, piloting the Millennium Falcon with him.

Known for his distinctive roar and crossbow-like weapon, Chewbacca is a skilled warrior and mechanic. He plays a vital role in the Rebel Alliance's fight against the Galactic Empire and later supports the Resistance.

Peter Mayhew portrayed Chewbacca in most of the films, with Joonas Suotamo taking over the role in later installments.
