Halbrand is a character introduced in the television series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, set in Middle-earth's Second Age.
He first appears in the series' second episode, "Adrift," encountered by Galadriel after she is lost at sea. He claims to be the King of the Southlands, forced to flee his homeland after his ancestors sided with Morgoth in the ancient wars.
Throughout the first season, Halbrand accompanies Galadriel on her journey back to Middle-earth and develops a close relationship with her. He proves to be skilled in smithing and aids Celebrimbor in forging the Rings of Power. However, his true identity is eventually revealed: he is, in fact, Sauron in disguise.
After his true identity is exposed, Halbrand's intentions become clear; he manipulated Galadriel and the elves to orchestrate the creation of the Rings of Power, which he will use to further his own plans for domination.
