Nightmare Luffy is a temporary power-up form of Monkey D. Luffy from the anime and manga series One Piece. It occurs during the Thriller Bark arc.
This form is not achieved through Luffy's own strength but by absorbing 100 shadows of skilled fighters, injected into him by the zombie doctor Hogback, under the orders of Gekko Moriah.
Nightmare Luffy first appears in the One Piece anime episode 378 and manga chapter 469. In this state, Luffy gains immense physical strength and combat skills derived from the absorbed shadows, becoming a formidable opponent.
