Biography:
Háma was a doorward of King Théoden of Rohan. He served loyally in the Meduseld, the Golden Hall of Edoras.
Háma was known for his stern demeanor and strict adherence to the laws and customs of Rohan. He was responsible for guarding the entrance to the King's hall and ensuring that only those with legitimate business were granted entry.
In The Two Towers, when Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli arrive at Edoras, Háma initially refuses them entry while armed. He cites the King's decree against weapons in his presence. Gandalf respects the law of the land, though argues for an exception given their urgent need to speak with Théoden. Eventually, Háma relents, allowing the companions to enter Meduseld unarmed.
Sadly, Háma was killed during the Battle of the Hornburg at Helm's Deep. His death signifies the great loss Rohan suffered during the War of the Ring and reflects the courage and loyalty of Théoden's men.
