Toy Soldier, also known as Jonathan Bender, is a fictional character appearing in the Other series by Cathy East Dubowski. He is a synthetic human, or "synth," created by the sinister GenCorp.

Jonathan was initially designed as a weapon, a child soldier programmed for obedience and combat. However, through events in the series, he begins to develop free will and question his programming.

He is depicted as physically small and initially naive, but possesses incredible strength and combat skills due to his synthetic nature. He also has the ability to camouflage himself, making him nearly invisible.

Throughout the series, Jonathan grapples with his identity, torn between his ingrained programming and his burgeoning humanity. He strives to find his place in the world and overcome the control GenCorp attempts to exert over him, eventually forging bonds with the other characters and fighting against his creators.
