Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops, is a Marvel Comics character and a central figure in the X-Men. Born with the mutant ability to emit powerful optic blasts, he cannot control these beams without special ruby quartz lenses.

Orphaned at a young age following a plane crash, Scott and his brother Alex (Havok) were separated and subjected to hardship. He was eventually recruited by Professor Charles Xavier, becoming one of the founding members of the X-Men.

Cyclops is known for his unwavering dedication to Xavier's dream of mutant-human coexistence. He is a brilliant tactician and strategist, often serving as the leader of the X-Men. His commitment, however, can sometimes appear rigid and uncompromising, leading to conflicts with other members.

Throughout his history, Cyclops has had significant relationships, most notably with Jean Grey, whose death and resurrection have profoundly affected him. His relationship with Emma Frost also marked a significant shift in his character, leading him down a more radical path in his later years as he sought to protect mutantkind at all costs.
