Strahd von Zarovich is a prominent villain in the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. He is the dark lord and vampire ruler of Barovia, a land trapped in perpetual twilight.

First appearing in the module *Ravenloft* (1983), Strahd is a complex character with a tragic past. He was once a valiant conqueror, but a pact with dark powers to prolong his life transformed him into a vampire. Consumed by regret and the curse of undeath, he rules Barovia with an iron fist.
