Biography:
Elphaba, most famously known from the musical "Wicked," hasn't had a major film or TV adaptation directly based on the stage show until recently. The character's origins, however, are rooted in Gregory Maguire's novel "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West," which reimagines the story of the Wicked Witch of the West from "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz."
Elphaba is characterized by her green skin, a result of her mother's ingestion of a mysterious elixir. She is highly intelligent, fiercely independent, and deeply committed to fighting injustice, particularly against the oppressed animals of Oz.
