Glinda, also known as Galinda, is a prominent character in the musical Wicked, adapted from Gregory Maguire's novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. While not directly from movies or TV, her popularity stems from stage productions which indirectly influence adaptations.

Glinda begins as a popular and ambitious student at Shiz University. Beautiful, privileged, and determined to achieve social status, Galinda aspires to become a member of Oz's elite. She's initially self-absorbed and somewhat superficial, prioritizing popularity and societal acceptance.

Her trajectory changes through her unlikely friendship with Elphaba, the green-skinned girl who would later become known as the Wicked Witch of the West. As they navigate school together, face discrimination, and uncover political corruption within Oz, Glinda matures and develops a strong moral compass.

Ultimately, she chooses a path of good intentions and earns the title of "Glinda the Good." Though still maintaining a position of influence, she strives to use her power for the benefit of the citizens of Oz, showcasing a marked transformation from her earlier, more self-serving ambitions.
