Biography:
Pang De was a general who served under several warlords during the late Eastern Han dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history. He initially served under Ma Teng and Ma Chao.
His first notable appearance in the novel *Romance of the Three Kingdoms* is during Ma Chao's rebellion against Cao Cao. Pang De distinguished himself in battle against Cao Cao's forces.
After Ma Chao's defeat and subsequent alliance with Zhang Lu, Pang De was left in the service of Cao Cao. He then became known for his immense courage and loyalty to Cao Cao.
He is most famous for his bravery and ferocity at the Battle of Fan Castle where he fought against Guan Yu. He vowed to kill Guan Yu in battle and stood his ground.
Pang De was eventually captured by Guan Yu's forces and refused to surrender. Choosing death over serving another lord, he was executed and came to be known as a symbol of unwavering loyalty. His character embodies the value of honor and courage present in the Three Kingdoms era.
