Biography:
Pang Tong, nicknamed "Young Phoenix," was a strategist serving Liu Bei during the late Eastern Han Dynasty in Luo Guanzhong's historical novel, *Romance of the Three Kingdoms*.
He first appears in the novel after Liu Bei secures Jing Province. Recommended by Lu Su, Pang Tong initially serves as Magistrate of Leiyang County but neglects his duties, leading to Liu Bei dismissing him. However, Lu Su intervenes, attesting to Pang Tong's true abilities.
Recognizing Pang Tong's talent, Liu Bei employs him as a strategist alongside Zhuge Liang. Pang Tong played a crucial role in Liu Bei's campaign to seize Yi Province from Liu Zhang. Sadly, Pang Tong was killed in action at Luo Feng Slope after he insisted on taking the Vanguard when he knew he was the target due to riding Liu Bei's famous horse.
