Biography:
Tattooed Man, also known as Full Color Tiger in some continuities, is a fictional character appearing in comic books published by DC Comics.
Created by Gerry Conway and Romeo Tanghal, the original Tattooed Man, John Oakes, first appeared in *Detective Comics* #440 (1974). Oakes was initially portrayed as a criminal with magical tattoos granting him abilities derived from the images themselves, such as a snake tattoo that could constrict.
Later interpretations of the character significantly changed. Mark Richards, introduced in *Green Lantern* vol. 4 #9 (2006), became the prominent Tattooed Man. Richards' tattoos are not magical but rather bio-chemically based, the result of exposure to an experimental compound. These tattoos manifest as controllable constructs formed from his own flesh, granting him a wide array of powers.
Regardless of the origin, the Tattooed Man is generally depicted as a troubled individual, often struggling with the dangerous and painful nature of his powers and his relationship with law enforcement.
