Nami, from the popular manga and anime series One Piece, is the Straw Hat Pirates' navigator and arguably the most pragmatic member of the crew. Orphaned as a child during a war and raised alongside Nojiko by Belle-mère, Nami developed a deep love for her adoptive family and Cocoyasi Village.

Initially portrayed as a thief specializing in robbing pirates, Nami's primary motivation stemmed from a forced agreement with the tyrannical Fish-Man Arlong, who held her village hostage. She stole to buy back her village's freedom, enduring years of hardship and sacrificing her own happiness. Her past traumas have shaped her love of money and distrust of pirates.

After Monkey D. Luffy defeats Arlong, freeing Nami from her obligation, she officially joins the Straw Hat Pirates. While initially hesitant to fully embrace her role as a pirate, Nami grows to trust and care deeply for her crewmates. She is highly intelligent and resourceful, using her navigation skills and Clima-Tact weapon, developed by Usopp, to aid the crew in their adventures. Her dream is to draw a complete map of the world. She is the crew's most valuable member in terms of steering them correctly across the Grand Line.
