Crysis is the codename for several characters in the Crysis video game series, primarily associated with United States Marine Force Recon scout team members equipped with advanced Nanosuits. These suits grant superhuman strength, speed, cloaking abilities, and armor.
The most prominent Crysis character is often considered to be James "Nomad" Rodriguez, the player character in the first Crysis game (2007). He is part of the Raptor Team sent to investigate a North Korean-controlled island where a mysterious alien artifact has been discovered.
Later games feature other characters utilizing the Nanosuit and operating under the "Crysis" designation, such as Alcatraz in Crysis 2 and Prophet (Laurence Barnes) throughout the series, who eventually becomes the core of the Nanosuit itself.
