Megatron is the primary antagonist in the Transformers franchise, leader of the Decepticons and archenemy of Optimus Prime. He originated on Cybertron as a miner who, disillusioned with the planet's caste system, rose to prominence as a revolutionary.

Initially advocating for equality, Megatron's philosophy gradually warped into a desire for absolute power, believing only Decepticon rule could bring order to the universe. This ideological shift sparked the Great War against the Autobots.

Driven by a relentless pursuit of the AllSpark and Energon, Megatron consistently seeks to conquer Earth and other planets, transforming them into resources for the Decepticon cause. He is characterized by his ruthlessness, strategic brilliance, and unwavering commitment to his goals.

Throughout various iterations of the Transformers story, Megatron's origins and motivations are explored differently. Still, his core identity remains consistent: a powerful, tyrannical leader determined to dominate all life, often at any cost.
