Dr. Eliot Franklin, better known as Thunderball, is a Marvel Comics supervillain primarily associated with the Wrecking Crew. He is a brilliant physicist specializing in gamma radiation. While working for Dr. Bruce Banner, he intentionally exposed himself to gamma radiation during an experiment with the Wrecker's crowbar, which had absorbed Asgardian magic.

This exposure granted Thunderball superhuman strength, stamina, and durability comparable to Thor. The crowbar, now imbued with mystical energy and gamma radiation, became his primary weapon, capable of generating concussive shockwaves and absorbing/releasing energy.

Initially driven by ambition and a desire to prove his intellectual superiority, Thunderball often clashed with the Hulk and other heroes. He and the Wrecking Crew frequently engage in criminal activities, their destructive rampages causing widespread damage. Despite his brute strength, Thunderball retains his scientific intellect, occasionally devising schemes and inventions to further his goals.
