Darkseid is a powerful supervillain appearing in DC Comics, first appearing in *Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen* #134 (November 1970), although hinted at earlier. He is the ruler of Apokolips and a major adversary of Superman and the Justice League.
He seeks to eliminate free will from the universe and reshape it in his image. His ultimate goal is to find the Anti-Life Equation, which would give him complete control over all sentient beings. Possessing immense strength, speed, and durability, along with the devastating Omega Beams he emits from his eyes, Darkseid poses a significant threat to the entire multiverse.
Born Uxas, he seized power by killing the previous god of evil, Steppenwolf, obtaining the Omega Force. He represents tyranny and oppression on a cosmic scale, and is a driving force behind many major conflicts within the DC Universe.
