Dutch van der Linde is a prominent character in the Red Dead franchise, most notably featured in Red Dead Redemption 2. He leads the Van der Linde gang, a group of outlaws struggling to survive the decline of the Wild West.

A charismatic and intelligent man, Dutch espouses ideals of freedom and self-sufficiency, attracting a diverse following. However, his vision is often at odds with the changing times, leading to increasingly desperate measures and questionable decisions.

Dutch, nicknamed "The plan king of the west", constantly reassures his gang that he has a plan. This plan is not always logical and often puts his gang in harm's way. Over time, his grand schemes become more detached from reality. His pursuit of wealth and power ultimately unravels the gang, causing internal conflict and fracturing relationships.
