Sheldon J. Plankton is a fictional character from the animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants. He is the diminutive owner of the Chum Bucket, a perpetually failing restaurant located directly across the street from the Krusty Krab.

Plankton's primary motivation is to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula from his business rival, Eugene Krabs. He employs elaborate schemes and technological devices to achieve this goal, but is consistently thwarted by SpongeBob and the other Krusty Krab employees.
