Tow Mater, often referred to as Mater (Headset) due to the headset he frequently wears, is a fictional tow truck character featured in the Disney/Pixar animated film franchise Cars. He is voiced by Larry the Cable Guy.
Mater is the deuteragonist of the first film, and later the protagonist of Cars 2. He resides in Radiator Springs and is best friends with Lightning McQueen. His appearance is that of a rusty, dented, and seemingly dilapidated tow truck, reflecting a well-used and loved vehicle.
