Roronoa Zoro is a prominent character in the anime series One Piece. He first appears in episode 3. He is a formidable swordsman and one of the first members to join the Straw Hat Pirates, pledging loyalty to Monkey D. Luffy.
Zoro's ambition is to become the world's greatest swordsman, a goal driven by a promise he made to his deceased childhood friend, Kuina. He is known for his unique three-sword style (Santoryu), wielding one sword in each hand and one in his mouth.
