The Lord of the Rings

Bolg was a fearsome Orc chieftain in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium, specifically appearing in The Hobbit. He inherited his position of leadership within the Orc hordes of the Misty Mountains from his father, Azog, the Orc who killed Thorin Oakenshield's grandfather, Thrór, and ignited the War of the Dwarves and Orcs.

Driven by a deep hatred for Dwarves and a desire for conquest, Bolg commanded a vast army of Goblins and Wargs during the Battle of Five Armies. He led his forces against the combined armies of the Dwarves, Elves, and Men at the Lonely Mountain, seeking to claim the treasure hoard for himself. Bolg was a physically imposing Orc, larger and more menacing than most of his kind.

During the climactic battle, Bolg directed his troops strategically, posing a significant threat to the free peoples of Middle-earth. He was ultimately slain by Beorn in his bear form, marking a pivotal turning point in the battle and contributing to the victory of the alliance against the Goblin forces. His death signaled the end of Azog's line and dealt a major blow to the Orcish power in the region.
