Korra is the protagonist of the animated television series The Legend of Korra, a sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender. She is the reincarnation of the Avatar, a being destined to maintain balance in the world.

Born in the Southern Water Tribe, Korra demonstrated the ability to bend water, earth, and fire at a young age, confirming her identity as the Avatar. She spent her formative years in a secure compound, mastering these elements under the tutelage of various bending masters.

Unlike her predecessor, Aang, Korra is initially headstrong and impatient, eager to face challenges head-on. However, she grapples with spiritual aspects of being the Avatar, struggling to connect with her past lives and master airbending.

Throughout the series, Korra confronts various threats, including Amon, a revolutionary who removes bending abilities; Unalaq, her power-hungry uncle; the Red Lotus, a group of anarchists; and Kuvira, an earthbender who seeks to unite the Earth Kingdom through authoritarian rule. Each conflict forces Korra to evolve and learn, ultimately embracing her role as the Avatar and establishing a new era of peace.
