Vinsmoke Sanji, often called Sanji, first appeared in the anime *One Piece* in episode 30. He is the Straw Hat Pirates' cook.
Sanji is the third son of the Vinsmoke Family, former rulers of the Germa Kingdom. He abandoned his family and kingdom at a young age due to their cruel practices and his own compassionate nature. He dreams of finding the All Blue, a legendary sea containing all types of fish.
He primarily uses his legs in combat, a fighting style he learned from his mentor, Zeff. Due to his chivalry he refuses to strike women, a self imposed rule that at times puts him in danger.
