King Magnifico is a fictional character in Disney's animated film, Wish (2023). He is the charming and powerful ruler of the kingdom of Rosas, an idyllic island where wishes are collected for safekeeping and, supposedly, granted by Magnifico himself.

Initially portrayed as a benevolent leader dedicated to protecting his people's dreams, Magnifico's motivations are revealed to be more complex and self-serving. He controls the wishes, deciding which are worthy of being granted based on his own judgment, born of a deep-seated fear of losing control and the potential dangers of unchecked desires.

His past, marked by personal tragedy, fuels his paranoia and ultimately leads him to become an antagonist. He believes he is acting in the best interest of Rosas, even as his actions become increasingly dictatorial and his methods oppressive.

Magnifico's character embodies the cautionary tale of unchecked power and the corruption that can arise from the fear of losing it.
