Prince Naveen is a central character in Disney's 2009 animated film, The Princess and the Frog.
He is initially introduced as a charming but irresponsible and spoiled prince from Maldonia. Disowned by his family due to his lavish spending habits, Naveen travels to New Orleans in search of a wealthy bride.
Through a series of unfortunate events involving the Shadow Man, Doctor Facilier, Naveen is transformed into a frog. His quest to return to his human form forms the primary plot of the movie. Naveen goes through an arc of character development throughout the movie as he is required to work to earn his keep, develops a strong work ethic, and learns the importance of respect for others.
