Biography:

Lightning is a recurring character in the Tom & Jerry cartoon franchise. He is a ginger cat, often depicted as a neighborhood bully, who frequently antagonizes Tom.

He is recognizable by his distinctive ginger fur and generally aggressive demeanor. Lightning often appears alongside Butch and other alley cats, forming a gang that torments Tom.

Lightning's appearances are usually in shorts where he is trying to outsmart Tom or steal food. One notable appearance is in the 1954 short "Pet Peeve" where he is competing with Tom for the affections of a wealthy owner. His role is primarily that of an antagonist.
