Bastila Shan was a prominent Jedi Knight who lived approximately 4,000 years before the Galactic Empire, during the era of the Old Republic. She was notable for her powerful ability with Battle Meditation, a Force power that could bolster the morale and coordination of Republic forces while simultaneously demoralizing the enemy. This ability proved crucial in the Republic's war against Darth Revan and Darth Malak.

She played a pivotal role in the capture of Darth Revan following a Republic ambush led by herself. Revan was severely wounded, leading to the loss of his memories. Bastila was then tasked with protecting him as the Jedi Council attempted to use Revan's connection to the Force to discover the location of the Star Forge, a powerful Sith weapon.

Bastila's strong will and dedication to the Jedi Code were constantly tested throughout her journey, particularly through her interactions with the amnesiac Revan. Eventually, she was captured by Darth Malak and turned to the dark side of the Force. However, through Revan's influence, she was redeemed and returned to the light side, ultimately assisting in the destruction of the Star Forge and the defeat of Malak.
