Assassin's Creed

The term "Assassin" in the context of Assassin's Creed refers not to a single character, but to members of a centuries-old, fictional secret society known as the Assassin Brotherhood. This organization opposes the Templar Order, another powerful group seeking control through order and manipulation.

Throughout the various games, players assume the roles of different Assassins, each with their own unique backgrounds, motivations, and skills. Notable figures include Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad from the original game, set during the Third Crusade; Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a charismatic nobleman from Renaissance Italy; Connor Kenway, a Native American Assassin during the American Revolution; and Bayek of Siwa, one of the founders of the Hidden Ones, the precursor to the Assassin Brotherhood in ancient Egypt.

While individual Assassin characters vary greatly, they share common traits. They are skilled warriors, experts in parkour and stealth, and dedicated to the principles of free will and justice. They operate from the shadows, employing assassination and sabotage to combat the Templars and protect the innocent from oppression.
