Joseph Joestar is a prominent character in the Japanese manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, created by Hirohiko Araki. He is the main protagonist of the second part, Battle Tendency, and also plays a significant supporting role in the third part, Stardust Crusaders.

Born in 1920, Joseph is the grandson of Jonathan Joestar, the protagonist of the first part of the series. He inherited his grandfather's ability to use Hamon, a martial arts technique that harnesses solar energy, which he employs to combat supernatural threats. His personality is marked by a mischievous and often unpredictable nature, contrasting with Jonathan's more stoic demeanor. He's known for his cunning strategies and talent for predicting his opponents' actions, often declaring his moves in advance, making his fighting style both entertaining and effective.

In Battle Tendency, Joseph confronts the Pillar Men, ancient beings of immense power. Through rigorous training and inventive application of Hamon, he ultimately defeats them. Decades later, in Stardust Crusaders, an older Joseph assists his grandson, Jotaro Kujo, in defeating DIO, utilizing his newly awakened Stand ability, Hermit Purple, alongside his Hamon skills. He's a core part of the Joestar lineage and has left an indelible mark on the series.
