David Martinez is the protagonist of the anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. He's a street kid growing up in Night City, struggling to survive in a world dominated by corporations and cybernetic enhancements.

Initially enrolled in the prestigious Arasaka Academy, David faces constant prejudice due to his lower-class background. He feels out of place and struggles to keep up with his wealthy classmates.

After a traumatic event, David stumbles upon a powerful Sandevistan implant, a military-grade cyberware that allows the user to move at incredible speeds. He begins using the implant to earn money and eventually becomes an edgerunner, a mercenary who takes on dangerous jobs in the criminal underworld.

Driven by a desire to be someone special and to protect those he cares about, David pushes his body and mind to their limits. He becomes increasingly reliant on cyberware, blurring the line between human and machine. His journey is marked by ambition, loyalty, and the inevitable consequences of living a high-risk lifestyle in Night City.
