Mū was the Second Tsuchikage of Iwagakure, the Hidden Stone Village. A powerful and enigmatic shinobi, he was renowned for his mastery of Dust Release, a Kekkei Tota combining Earth, Fire, and Wind chakra natures to disintegrate targets at a molecular level. This technique made him a formidable opponent on the battlefield.

Very little is known about Mū's early life or motivations. He was a skilled sensor, able to erase his chakra signature completely, earning him the moniker "Non-Person." This ability proved invaluable during the First Shinobi World War.

Mū mentored Ōnoki, who later became the Third Tsuchikage. While he trained Ōnoki to be his successor, their relationship was strained due to Mū's strict and demanding nature. He often criticized Ōnoki's perceived weakness.

He was eventually killed in battle against the Second Mizukage, Gengetsu Hōzuki. The conflict between the two was so intense that it supposedly resulted in the death of both men, highlighting their immense power and strategic acumen. Mū was later resurrected by Kabuto Yakushi during the Fourth Shinobi World War and forced to fight against the Allied Shinobi Forces.
