The Military Police Regiment, a key element within the Attack on Titan universe, is first introduced in episode 1 of the anime. They are one of the three branches of the military, tasked with maintaining order and protecting the royal family within the innermost walls.

Unlike the Survey Corps who fight Titans outside the walls, and the Garrison Regiment who defend the walls, the Military Police enjoys a comparatively safer position. This often leads to corruption and complacency within their ranks, as members are often selected from the top ten graduates of each training squad, creating a sense of elitism.

The Regiment's primary responsibilities include policing the population, enforcing laws, and serving as the King's personal guard. However, their lack of frontline combat experience is a point of contention, particularly among those who have witnessed the horrors beyond the walls. Despite the generally negative perception, certain individuals within the Military Police genuinely strive to uphold justice and protect the people.
