Aladdin is the titular protagonist of Disney's animated film, Aladdin (1992), and its subsequent franchise.
He is a street urchin living in the fictional Arabian city of Agrabah. He survives by stealing food and evading the Royal Guard.
Aladdin's life takes a turn when he encounters Princess Jasmine, disguised as a commoner, and the two share a connection. His world changes again when he is recruited by the evil sorcerer Jafar to retrieve a magical lamp from the Cave of Wonders. Inside the cave, Aladdin finds the lamp and, upon rubbing it, releases the Genie, a powerful wish-granting entity.
Using his wishes, Aladdin initially pretends to be Prince Ali Ababwa in order to win Jasmine's affection. He ultimately defeats Jafar and frees the Genie. In the end, his honest nature and bravery are recognized, and he is allowed to marry Jasmine, rejecting the facade of royalty to remain true to himself.
