Pinocchio is a fictional character who first appeared in Disney's 1940 animated film, Pinocchio. He is a wooden puppet carved by the woodcarver Geppetto and brought to life by the Blue Fairy.

Pinocchio dreams of becoming a real boy and must prove himself to be "brave, truthful, and unselfish" to achieve this. His journey is fraught with temptation and danger, as he encounters dishonest characters like Honest John and Gideon, and is led astray to Pleasure Island.
