Edna Krabappel was a fictional character in the animated television series, The Simpsons. Voiced primarily by Marcia Wallace, she served as Springfield Elementary School's fourth-grade teacher, specifically of Bart Simpson's class.

Krabappel was depicted as a world-weary and cynical woman, frustrated with her job and desperately seeking a romantic relationship. Her romantic pursuits often led to brief and disastrous affairs, notably with Principal Seymour Skinner, although they eventually married. She had a penchant for smoking and frequently used dating services, showcasing her loneliness and desire for companionship.

Her character arc often revolved around her frustration with Bart's constant pranks and her disillusionment with the public education system. Despite her cynicism, Krabappel occasionally displayed a hidden capacity for kindness and empathy, especially towards her students.

Following Marcia Wallace's death in 2013, the character of Edna Krabappel was retired from the show out of respect. The show handled her departure through various tributes and mentions, acknowledging her significant role in the series' history.
