Himura Kenshin is the protagonist of the popular anime and manga series, Rurouni Kenshin. He is a wandering swordsman in the Meiji era of Japan, renowned for his exceptional swordsmanship.
Kenshin's past is steeped in violence. As a young boy orphaned by war, he was trained in the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū style of swordsmanship, a powerful and deadly technique. During the Bakumatsu period, he became known as "Hitokiri Battōsai," a ruthless assassin instrumental in the Meiji Restoration.
