Muzan Kibutsuji is the primary antagonist of the anime and manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is the progenitor of all demons, existing for over a thousand years. His ultimate goal is to overcome his weakness to sunlight, becoming the perfect being.

Born as a human during the Heian period, Muzan was afflicted with a terminal illness. A compassionate doctor attempted to cure him using a prototype medicine derived from the Blue Spider Lily. While it seemingly saved his life, it also transformed him into a demon, granting him immense power but causing him to crave human flesh and fear sunlight.

Muzan possesses the ability to create other demons by sharing his blood. He controls these demons through a hierarchical structure, punishing insubordination with death. He is ruthless, manipulative, and willing to do anything to achieve his objectives, seeing humans and even his own creations as mere tools.

Throughout the series, Muzan remains a shadowy figure, carefully manipulating events from behind the scenes. He presents himself in various disguises, even as a child or a woman, to conceal his true identity and avoid detection. His immense power and strategic mind make him a formidable and terrifying foe.
