Dr. Thomas Elliot, known as Hush, first appeared in Batman #609 (January 2003). He is a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne with a shared traumatic past; both lost their parents, though under very different circumstances.

Fueled by resentment and jealousy towards Bruce's privileged upbringing following his parents' death, Elliot meticulously planned a long-term scheme to destroy Batman, exploiting many of the hero's closest allies and enemies. His intellect and surgical skills make him a formidable opponent.

Elliot underwent extensive plastic surgery to resemble Bruce Wayne, further complicating Batman's life. Though his plans have often been thwarted, Hush remains a persistent and dangerous adversary, motivated by a deep-seated hatred for the Wayne family and a desire to dismantle Batman's world.
