Dumbo, formally known as Jumbo Jr., is the titular character of the 1941 Disney animated film, Dumbo. He is a young circus elephant distinguished by his extraordinarily large ears.

Born to Mrs. Jumbo, Dumbo's prominent ears initially lead to ridicule and ostracization from the other elephants. He is given the cruel nickname "Dumbo" (dumb). Following an incident protecting his mother, both are separated from the circus troupe.

befriended by Timothy Q. Mouse, who becomes his advocate and manager. Timothy recognizes Dumbo's potential for flight using his ears as wings.
