Raiden Shogun is a prominent character from the video game Genshin Impact. She made her first appearance as a playable character in the game's version 2.1 update.

The Raiden Shogun is the Electro Archon of Inazuma, ruling the nation with an iron fist in pursuit of eternity. She exists as two distinct entities: Ei, the true consciousness within the Plane of Euthymia, and the Shogun, a puppet created by Ei to act as the vessel for her ideals. The puppet is programmed to uphold unchanging rule, leading to policies that often clash with the desires of the people.

Ei's pursuit of eternity stems from witnessing immense loss and suffering throughout her long life. She believes that preserving Inazuma in a state of unchanging order is the only way to protect it from future calamities, leading to the Vision Hunt Decree and Sakoku Decree, which sparked conflict and rebellion across the nation.
