The Chainsaw Demon, more commonly known as Chainsaw Man, is a central character in the Japanese manga series of the same name, written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. His first anime appearance is in the first episode of the Chainsaw Man TV show, originally broadcast on October 12, 2022.
Chainsaw Man's true identity is a powerful Devil named Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil. He embodies the fear of chainsaws, making him incredibly strong. After merging with a young man named Denji, he grants Denji the ability to transform into Chainsaw Man by pulling a cord on his chest.
As Chainsaw Man, Denji gains chainsaw blades extending from his head and arms, granting him immense strength and destructive power. He is driven by a desire to live a comfortable life and often fights Devils under the employment of Public Safety Devil Hunters.
