The Turtle in Minecraft is a passive mob primarily found on beaches and in the ocean. They are characterized by their green, shelled bodies and slow movement speed.

Turtles spend most of their time on beaches, laying eggs in the sand. These eggs are fragile and can be broken if stepped on by players or mobs. Upon hatching, baby turtles make their way to the water, often needing player assistance to avoid predators.

Turtles are a renewable source of scutes, which are dropped upon their death or when baby turtles grow into adults. Five scutes can be crafted into a Turtle Shell, a helmet that provides a water breathing effect and a small amount of damage resistance.

They are most vulnerable on land, however when in water, Turtles can swim quickly and efficiently. They are vital for players wishing to craft Turtle Shells for exploration and combat in the ocean.
