Biography:
Blue Goose is a fictional character featured in the 1967 novel "Games" by French author Michel Cournot, and the subsequent 1970 film adaptation directed by Curtis Harrington.
Within the narrative, Blue Goose is a mysterious and ethereal Native American figure, often described as an "Indian spirit." He seems to exist primarily within the imaginations, or possibly shared hallucinations, of the central characters, Paul and Jennifer Montgomery, a wealthy, bored New York City couple.
Blue Goose's exact nature and purpose remain ambiguous throughout the story. He appears as a guide, a trickster, or perhaps even a malevolent force, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy. His presence contributes to the escalating psychological tension and paranoia within the Montgomerys' marriage as they engage in increasingly bizarre "games" with a mysterious house guest.
Ultimately, Blue Goose's role is to serve as a catalyst for the disintegration of the protagonists' sanity and their descent into a state of irrationality and violence, leaving his true origins and intentions open to interpretation.
