Barret Wallace is a prominent character from the Final Fantasy VII video game series. He leads the anti-Shinra organization AVALANCHE, driven by a deep hatred for the Shinra Electric Power Company, whom he blames for destroying his hometown of Corel and the surrounding natural environment.

Initially portrayed as a gruff and hot-headed revolutionary, Barret's motivations are later revealed to be rooted in protecting the planet, and most importantly, ensuring a better future for his adopted daughter, Marlene. He wields a gun-arm in place of his left hand, a constant reminder of the Corel incident.

Throughout the narrative, Barret's character arc involves grappling with the consequences of his actions, learning to trust others, and ultimately finding redemption as he fights alongside Cloud Strife and the other members of AVALANCHE to save the world from Sephiroth.
