Diego Armando Maradona (1960-2020) was an Argentine professional footballer widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. A gifted attacking midfielder, he possessed exceptional dribbling skills, vision, and passing ability.

Maradona began his professional career with Argentinos Juniors before moving to Boca Juniors, then to Europe with Barcelona and later Napoli. At Napoli, he led the club to their only two Serie A titles and a UEFA Cup victory, becoming a legendary figure in the city.

He captained the Argentine national team to victory in the 1986 FIFA World Cup, famously scoring the "Hand of God" goal and the "Goal of the Century" against England in the quarter-finals. He also played in the 1982, 1990 (where Argentina were runners-up), and 1994 World Cups.

Following his playing career, Maradona became a football manager, coaching the Argentine national team from 2008 to 2010. Though his career was marked by controversies off the pitch, his impact on the sport and his enduring popularity remain undeniable.
