Miles Quaritch, often referred to as Colonel Miles Quaritch, is a central antagonist in the *Avatar* film franchise. He first appeared in the 2009 film, *Avatar*.
Originally a human Marine Colonel in charge of security for the Resources Development Administration (RDA) on Pandora, Quaritch is driven by a deep-seated xenophobia and a ruthless determination to secure the planet's resources for humanity.
In *Avatar: The Way of Water* (2022), Quaritch returns as a recombinant, or "Recom," an Avatar body implanted with his memories. This Navi avatar grants him enhanced strength and agility while retaining his original militaristic mindset. He is tasked with eliminating Jake Sully.
This reborn Quaritch represents a persistent threat to the Na'vi people and the Sully family. He possesses tactical prowess and knowledge of Sully's past, making him a formidable adversary in the ongoing struggle for Pandora.
