William MacIntyre, known as Triumph, is a DC Comics superhero. He debuted in Justice League International #35 (July 1991).
MacIntyre possessed the power to absorb and redirect energy. He was a founding member of the original Justice League International but was erased from history after failing to prevent a catastrophe during the League's early days. He was believed dead, lost in a dimensional warp, but he was instead trapped in a state of suspended animation.
Upon his return, embittered by his lost time and forgotten legacy, Triumph sought recognition and struggled to reintegrate into a superhero world that had moved on without him. This created tension and conflict with the newer generation of heroes. Triumph was an imperfect hero trying to earn back the respect he once had.
