Azazel is a powerful mutant character in Marvel Comics, primarily associated with the X-Men.
He is a demonic-looking mutant with the power of teleportation, primarily through interdimensional travel. He appears as a red-skinned humanoid with a prehensile tail and the ability to emit energy bolts. He is also functionally immortal due to his regenerative healing factor.
Azazel is a member of an ancient race of mutants called the Neyaphem. He is the father of several mutants, most notably Kurt Wagner, also known as Nightcrawler. Azazel genetically manipulated various women to produce offspring with unique abilities.
He has often been portrayed as a villainous figure, driven by a desire for power and the expansion of his influence, sometimes acting as a major antagonist to the X-Men.
